The idea “Gift Your Time” stemmed from a recent trend statistic from WGSN. Generation Y crave experience; 78% choose to spend their money on experiences rather than materialistic objects. It became clear to me that time is the most precious gift you can give someone.
Bringing meditation into stores as part of an experience aimed at the consumer who looks for more than just shopping within retail. Consumers grow frustrated with the tension of buying gifts with personal recognition. This space reduces the stress and anxiety retail environments can cause by allowing time away from reality to sit and breath.
“Gift Your Time” recognises the hidden truths of shopping within retail. It has been designed to destress the consumer, whether that be before, after or in-between their shopping experience. The meditation bar removes the consumer from reality and allows them to sit back and relax, reducing stress and anxiety that may be going through their head at the time. The concept is to encourage and welcome those that struggle to face retail environments in a way of celebrating the time you have spent with someone.
